Living a non-delusional life is boring, for real
You wake up naturally, exercise, meditate, don’t use your phone, don’t listen to music, get all your work done, walk around nature, take deep breaths, and go back to sleep.
What an ideal day, isn’t it?
Today, you didn’t have a crush to obsess over. You weren’t waiting for a situationship to text you back. All your socials are deactivated, so you weren’t mindlessly scrolling reels or sharing memes. You were not listening to songs on repeat, imagining cute romantic scenarios that are never going to happen.
You spent an entire day being mindful.
Only to realize how boring it is.
Living a fantasy is so much more fun than facing reality.
Yes, today was boring. But wasn’t it peaceful?
Weren’t you proud that you were able to do a yoga pose that seemed impossible at the start of the 30-day challenge? You were admiring how consistency made you strong.
Controlling yourself to do the right thing was much easier. You were able to respect and appreciate the painful moments, as you realized they are extremely necessary for the overall growth of an individual.
There were moments that made you angry and irritated. But you knew how to manage them properly. Instead of reacting on your impulse, you acknowledged them.
That didn’t last long, but still, you tried. Today, for the very first time, you reflected on your behavior and negative patterns.
Without any delusional fantasy, each passing minute seemed so long. You were fighting the urge to use your phone or listen to your favorite song.
A lot of effort was involved in survival today.
That’s what made it such a boring day.
The need for instant gratification in this fast-paced world has made peace look boring. Toxic behaviors are so normalized nowadays. People make totally absurd jokes about self-destruction to make their memes and reels go viral.
I personally used to think toxicity is so fun. (no offense). I had no idea what I was doing was considered toxic and self-destructive behavior. For me, it was just a fun little thing to do that made me escape this boring and utterly painful reality.
I had no idea I was toxic until I self-reflected. It’s like I became everything I never thought I would be. Now it’s time to decode those negative patterns and self-destructive behavior.
Those who say yoga and meditation don’t work, are the ones who have never tried it religiously. They work like magic.
Yes, living a non-delusional life is boring. But only if you have the wrong perspective on “fun”.
Too much consumption of Netflix and Instagram has made you crave a life that doesn’t actually exist. What you see on that screen is a highly filtered reality.
Have you ever considered the after-effects of these so-called fun, delusional moments?
No, right? A lot can go wrong if you are not mindful of where you spend your time and energy.
There is a saying that, “You are what you eat”?
It’s so true. What you consume is who you are. Now that consumption can be either virtual or physical.
Here is a little something I read on Delusion.
It will give you clarity on what I mean when I say staying mindful is boring, but delusion is a poison wrapped in a honeycomb.
In life’s vibrant tapestry, be mindful and free,
Stay close to what’s real, let fantasies flee.
Like a sailor on waves, not lost in the sea,
Delusions may dance, but true joy is the key.
With a clear, open heart, your path you will see.
